Living and working as an artist in the Nillumbik Shire provides me with ever changing observations of the world around me. Last year I planted Billy Buttons, and their blooms coincided with the Spotted Pardalotes flying in and out of their 'nest tunnels' around my plants.
Born in New Zealand in 1973, Mirranda Burton is a printmaker, graphic storyteller, illustrator, animator and educator living and working on Wurundjeri land, Victoria. She has worked extensively both independently and commercially for around 30 years. Her first graphic novel Hidden was published in 2011 by Black Pepper Publishing, and her second graphic novel Underground: Marsupial Outlaws and Other Rebels of Australia’s War in Vietnam was published by Allen & Unwin in 2021.
